Why you might not want a psychic reading.

What comes to mind when you think of someone having a psychic reading?

Crystal balls, trance mediums, voices from beyond, your future foretold?

Well, let me tell you right now, if that is what you want from this neck of the woods, it’s not going to happen.

Why? … it’s disempowering.

Think about it … why do you want to know your future?

and,

why do you want someone else to tell you about it?

Go on, take a moment or two to answer that for yourself, if you are in the situation of contemplating having a psychic reading.

Good… got the answers, are they anything like this…?

  • I want to know what is going to happen in my relationship.
  • I want to know if I’m going to lose my job.
  • I want to know if my mother has a message for me.
  • I want to know what to do next because …
  • I want to know if anything bad is going to happen.
  • I don’t believe in any of this and I want you to prove differently.

So say you had a reading and they told you the answer to one of your questions.

Then what?

What are you going to do next?

  • Panic?
  • Sell up?
  • Give up?
  • Beat yourself up?
  • Have more unanswered questions?

None of that is moving you forward. Nothing listed here is offering you a solution.

All it does is create more of the same kind of feelings and dead-end actions.

Seeking these kinds of readings, at best takes your power away.

How can it do otherwise, since you are giving your power to someone else?

At worst, it makes you dependent on someone else. You might feel you have to go back and get more of your unanswered questions fulfilled.

Someone else is doing your work for you. You are not in command of your life.

Disempowered and dependant?

No, not on my watch.

My purpose and everything I do is about empowering women to live better lives. To know themselves more fully, warts and all, so that can create the outcomes they want.

In fact, the warts are the best part because they are generally what is holding you back. Get to the bottom of those, and things move way more easily! You get to create the life that you always thought possible but didn’t  know how.

My purpose is not to make you dependant upon me.

My services use my intuitive skills as a way to empower you. To help you find your answers and with my help find the outcomes and solutions that move you forward.

The reason I use intuitive tools is that I find it speeds up the whole process.

We get there quicker. I like speed!  I don’t want you on a two-year course with me. I want you in your own perfect next step action!

The thing is, something is going to change. If you want something different in your life then something has to. There must be a clearing out, a dying away of something, to make space for the new. It cannot be any other way.

Since change is hard for most of use, especially if it is forced upon us, you might need help and support.

Why not usher in change at your pace?

Why not take the reins and be in command of your own creative life force?

You can create anything, since all great things start with a thought!

All shitty things start with a thought too!

Why use Oracle Cards?

Do ‘Oracle Cards’  sound like a little bit of flim-flam, a bit of nonsensical woo?

( oh boy, you can tell that I might have heard this before!)

Let me give you my take on Oracle cards, and why I use them.

Twenty-first Century living … never before in the history of mankind (like the dramatic effect?) … has there been so much to distract the human brain.        We are overstimulated, surrounded by white noise, mobile phones, alerts, TV, Radio, blah and more blah. It takes a great deal of self-discipline not to be distracted. Our attention span has diminished and our minds have become unruly and undisciplined.

What can we do to help ourselves through this?

We could seek wise council – we could ask a friend or trusted adviser to help us to;

  • find our focus
  • notice our patterns
  • kick our arse 😉
  • help us track ourselves
  • tell us when we kid ourselves
    and
  • tell us when we are spot on!

The way I have been taught to use Oracle Cards and the way I teach my peeps is just like that. They are a wise friend, a counselor.

Part of my daily practice is to use my Oracle Cards to hold up a mirror to what is going on for me.

Some of it I already know, the physical world can be pretty obvious. But some of it is more subtle. Our thoughts, feelings and emotions are things that often seem so much part of us that we can’t see or feel what is going on …  but a friend who knows us well can.

This is how I use oracle cards for my clients too, mostly. There are other ways I can help a client with Oracle cards, but this is the quickest, easiest and most down to earth practical way to keep moving forward with clarity.

We live in a world of drama, we can bring that drama into our life at the touch of a button. People are emotionally challenged.

We live in a world where banal fiction is made real and the truth is too hard to take.

Oracle Cards take you out of the drama, out of your drama and gets you in touch with your truth.

In my opinion, those are some very good reasons as to why you should use Oracle Cards!

What do you think? Do you use them, would you consider using them?

I would love to know … so feel free to comment below.

You also may have noticed that I offer a free Oracle reading if you sign up for my newsletter. (current at the time of writing this post.)

Feel free to take me up on my offer!

How jumping to conclusions makes you miss out.

Are you missing out?

You might not know this about me, especially since all my posts have ‘gone’, but as well as being a personal and spiritual coach, mentor and intuitive for midlife women, I’m also a yoga instructor.

I lead yoga classes at a local spa. Mostly it’s spa members who attend but often there are overnight guests and day visitors that book onto a class.

I try to give a range of experiences, some classes being very relaxing and others more stretchy or dynamic.

Sundays are purposefully more challenging, it starts the day off well!

Before we set sail with this challenging class, we chant.

Just recently something happened at the start of class that has happened before, but it made me think and prompted this post.

Someone, a youngish someone, female, although that’s probably not relevant, got up and left.

No explanation, no gesture of ‘goodbye’, just upped and gone.

When I started teaching yoga at the spa, if that happened, it would really throw me for a loop. I would be distracted for the remainder of the class wondering why, and quite frankly, being a bit put out. Nah, pissed off!

“How rude”.

‘Why didn’t they stay?”

“They should have stayed”.

“They have missed out”.

“How dare they”.

“I want to speak to them”.

On occasion I have even called out,

”Don’t go yet, it’s just about to get good. You’ll miss the best part!”

I don’t take it personally anymore, but I do think they have missed out!

Now what I imagine, is their thought process. What was going on in their minds and how did they conclude that it wasn’t for them and what was their judgment of the situation?

I have noticed that it’s often younger people under 30 that do this, and without being judgmental, but observing this behaviour, it could be for a number of reasons :

– that we (in class) seem too old, so it will be a gentle class.

– that we won’t be ‘up to’ the kind of class that they want to do.

– that ‘chanting’ is a waste of time, they just want to get to the exercise part.

– that it will be a ‘traditional’ class.

   Etc, etc …

Whatever the reason – they will never find out the truth – because they left the room.

How many times might that have happened to you? That you judged, decided and came to a conclusion without investigating further to find out if it were true?

What have you missed out on because to came to a faulty conclusion?

For the girl that left the room the other day … you should know that we laughed, had fun and got hot and sweaty doing ‘hard’ stuff.

Those with the grey hair knocked it out of the park! You, however, have a different image in your head about what was about to happen …

and you missed out!

Don’t be that girl.

Don’t cut off your chances, your potential and your capacity for fun just because you jump to an untrue conclusion.

Have you just landed here? …

Have you just found this site, had a quick look round, and are wondering “Where’s all the content?”.

Yep me too!

I had a little mishap just recently, changed the name of my site and lost ALL the content that had build up over the last few years.

Yes, I know! It felt like a disaster to me too, but then I decided,

“Jocelyne, you can’t argue with reality!”

The only thing I can do is start to rebuild. I have someone trying to salvage the content, but in truth that might not happen.

In the meantime, I’ve just got to get busy filling you in with all the details!
